HMV Haul.

Hello!
Something a bit different today, a DVD haul :)
I personally love reading what DVD's people have bought and getting their recommendations!
I only ever buy DVD's in the sale because i begrudge paying full price for a DVD that's going to be £3 in a months time haha i'm a tight wad basically ;)
Onward to the haul!

Firstly, don't mind the flash mark on the front of all the DVD's, i'm a bit of a crap photographer!
This first one is a film i've wanted to watch for a while, Gran Torino.

Walt Kowalski is a widower who holds onto his prejudices despite the changes in his Michigan neighborhood and the world around him. Kowalski is a grumpy, tough-minded, unhappy an old man, who can't get along with either his kids or his neighbors, a Korean War veteran whose prize possession is a 1972 Gran Torino he keeps in mint condition. When his neighbor Thao, a young Hmong teenager under pressure from his gang member cousin, tries to steal his Gran Torino, Kowalski sets out to reform the youth. Drawn against his will into the life of Thao's family, Kowalski is soon taking steps to protect them from the gangs that infest their neighborhood.

I haven't seen this yet but if anyone would like a review i can do that for you :) This was £2.99, bargainnnn.

I've heard so much about about this film but i've never been overly keen on seeing it! But i thought for only £2.99 i should give it a try, now it's just a case of getting round to watching it!! haha
The storyline, although you probably already know, is;

A tale told over four seasons, starting in autumn when Juno, a 16-year-old high-school junior in Minnesota, discovers she's pregnant after one event in a chair with her best friend, Bleeker. In the waiting room of an abortion clinic, the quirky and whip-sharp Juno decides to give birth and to place the child with an adoptive couple. She finds one in the PennySaver personals, contacts them, tells her dad and step-mother, and carries on with school. The chosen parents, upscale yuppies (one of whom is cool and laid back, the other meticulous and uptight), meet Juno, sign papers, and the year unfolds. Will Juno's plan work, can she improvise, and what about Bleeker?

It sounds quite fun and sweet but i always lean towards thrillery or romantic films more than indie films like this!

Zodiac! I watched this film and apart from being a little bit over-long for my tastes it was brilliant! A thrilling ride, great acting, an extremely good looking cast (Jake Gyllenhaal, yummm <3) and a solid script! It'll keep you gripped until the end.
Storyline time!

A serial killer in the San Francisco Bay Area taunts police with his letters and cryptic messages. We follow the investigators and reporters in this lightly fictionalized account of the true 1970's case as they search for the murderer, becoming obsessed with the case. Based on Robert Graysmith's book, the movie's focus is the lives and careers of the detectives and newspaper people.

Definitely worth purchasing! I got it for £2.99, it's usually around that price all the time too on HMV.

Please don't be put off by Tom Hank's EXTREMELY airbrushed face on the cover, it's actually a really good film (and he doesn't look airbrushed in the film, promise!)

This sweet romantic comedy reunites "Sleepless In Seattle" stars Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. He's the owner of a bookstore chain; she's the woman he falls for online. Both are unaware that she runs the little shop his company is trying to shut down.

It's SUCH a good chick flick! It's an absolute travesty that these two didn't do anymore films together :( Tom Hanks is one of my favourite actors, he's so likeable and i just want to cuddle him in whatever role he plays! haha, in a non stalkery way ;) This was also £2.99.

Hope you enjoyed! :)
