MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer - Review!

Hello gorgeous people!
Today I'm going to do a review that I've been meaning to do for a while, the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers!
I was so excited to get my hands on these when they first came out, I'm loving matte lips at the mo!

From L-R - Criminal, Atomic & Kooky.
In the swatches above they look glossy, but these are actually matte lip lacquers, or ''velvet'' effect as the name suggests.
I'll now put in some lip swatches of the shades, because I always find them really helpful when I'm reading a post!
Atomic
This one's probably my favourite, and the most wearable shade.
It's a dark raspberry colour that I think really suits my skintone!

 Kooky
This is quite an unusual shade, a Barney the dinosaur shade of lipstick isn't something I'd normally wear!
But I actually really like this colour! I wear it with just lots of mascara, or a slick of eyeliner to keep it nice and simple.
I will say that this shade shows signs of wear more than the others, probably just because it's a darker colour.

 Criminal
Criminal is definitely the brightest of the lot! It reminds me MAC's Viva Glam Nicki, except it's slightly more pink and more nourishing on the lips!
I really like this one, but it does pull a bit a yellow on the lips so it can make your teeth look not-so pearly white!!

I really enjoy using these lip lacquers, you apply them to your lips with the doe foot applicator (and don't apply too much otherwise you'll have a gloopy mess on your hands!) and then don't rub your lips together afterwards, just leave them to dry on their own until they've gone matte.
They'll stay there for at least 4-6 hours, if you don't eat anything, if you do then you'll have to reapply as it does rub away on the inside of the mouth.

Overall, these are nice, not the most moisturising lip product ever, but what can you expect from a matte lip lacquer really?

The Revlon matte balms have come along and stolen some of the limelight from these lovelies but considering you can get two of these for the price of one Revlon matte balm, with some change left over, they're amazing value!
These are available from Superdrug stores nationwide, or from the MUA cosmetics website here for £3.00.
Toodles! x
